Get InvolvedSupport The Challenge

Finnegan’s challenge is a way for anyone to get involved to help families and children who have experienced challenges that require some different need. We are looking for parents of children to tell their stories that can help other families’ understanding of ways to navigate the life path for everyone in their families. In addition, we are looking for individuals to work with us as we continue to expand our research into developing helpful hints and competencies to help families.

You can spread the word about the mission of Finnegan’s Challenge and participate in our next major exposure campaign. In the near future, we will announce the exact details of our next major initiative to bring attention, raise money and build new educational programs as part of Finnegan’s Challenge.

History of the challengeThe First Challenge

On November 4, 2021, Finnegan's Grandfather, Dr. Richard “Doc” Sander, made free throws for 24 consecutive hours and made 3,956 shots. This was our first official challenge and it was a huge success!

Numerous people made a gift or a pledge to support Doc Sander and Finnegan’s Challenge by giving a penny, a nickel, or a dollar for every free throw made. Even NBA Hall of Famer and TNT celebrity, Charles Barkley, pledged $25,000 to support Finnegan’s Challenge. Over $150,000 in gifts and pledges were committed and it inspired us to keep going in support of our cause.

Today, we are committed to raising awareness and providing support for every one in 33 children born with birth defects through Finnegan’s Challenge. We are challenging everyone to get involved and participate through our various fundraising efforts and awareness campaigns.
